Abstract

Child health is not only an important indicator of a country’s overall development, but also a valuable resource and a key driver of sustainable progress. Research shows that early childhood screen exposure can significantly affect children’s physical and mental health, including an increased risk of obesity, metabolic disorders, visual impairment, attention difficulties, reduced self-regulation capacities, sleep disturbances, and even symptoms of depression. This paper emphasizes that measures aimed at reducing children’s screen time must be multilayered. In addition to educating parents and educators, broader societal changes are necessary. Future research should focus on analyses that take into account the entire environment in which a child lives and develops, in order to create sustainable and effective strategies for protecting children’s health and development in the digital age.
