Abstract

Vitamin K deficiency bleeding is very serious disease that can affect newborns and infants. In this article current practice in prophylaxis and recommendations for the prevention of vitamin K deficiency bleeding have been cited. Patients with cholestatic liver diseases and cystic fibrosis are prone to vitamin K deficiency due to poor intestinal resorption. Current knowledge of vitamin K prophylaxis in these diseases has been also mentioned.
