Abstract

Allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT) is the only disease-modifying therapy for IgE-mediated allergic diseases (allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, allergic asthma, insect vein allergy). The exact mechanisms by which efficiency is achieved are currently unknown. Immunotherapy can be performed subcutaneously (SCIT) and sublingually (SLIT).  Significant progress has been made in terms of AIT efficiency and security.
